Fisher Residence, Louisville, KY

The sculpture is composed of dichroic glass set on diagonals with polished heavy plate glass arcs that are set on a stainless steel base. This glass sculpture stands in the living room and is positioned beneath a skylight near a wall of windows. The clear curving plate glass arcs support and are supported by the multi-hued angles of dichroic glass, illustrating the contrasting but mutually reliant ideas within a duality. The concept that the architectural column originated as a representation and an expression of a natural form served as the basis for this design. The work is located diagonally from the entry of the house with the intent of directing the viewer’s attention as they enter across the house to the exterior window that overlooks a lush garden.
